A Week Of Photos From The Red Double Wide – 7/11/15

Now that I have a little more time on my hands, I’ve been taking tons of pictures; so I decided to make weekly post of photos.  Hope you enjoy!

This is his “holy moly it’s hot out here” look.  I only know this because I had the same look on my face.

DSCN5346 (640x480)This is my favorite pic this week……heck, this might be my favorite pic of the year!  The girls got to walk next to the church float in the 4th of July day parade!  Can you spot 5 pieces of candy flying through the air?

DSCN5445 (480x640)

The garden is growing like crazzzy, well at least the parts that the bugs haven’t eaten.  I picked my first zucchini yesterday, it was YUMMY.  🙂

After watching some episodes of I Love Lucy, Jo decided to dress up like someone from the 50’s.  Just makes me smile!

The temps have actually swooped down into the 80’s the last couple of days.  After weeks of being in the 100’s it’s a welcome change. 😀

Have a super week everyone!

June 2015 – A Month Of Photos From The Red Double Wide

Holy roasted marshmallows….It’s HOT outside!!

Our temps for the past few weeks have been right around 100 and we don’t see an end in sight.  Down south this might be very normal, but for us Washingtonians this is way out of the norm for June.  Harvest is coming about a month early and the fear of fires is VERY great.  I’m SOOOO glad we have central air and the house is nice and cool. 🙂

About half of my garden is loving this heat and the other half has been eaten by bugs or simply isn’t growing because of the heat.  But, I’m enjoying what is growing and loving the time off from school!

Here’s a few pics of my garden and some other things we’ve got going on around here.

DSCN5279 (480x640)Most of the bug damage is from earwigs.  I made earwig traps and some natural bug spray, and I think I’ve slowed them down a bit but they are still destroying lots of baby plants.  🙁

April and May 2015 – A Couple Months Of Photos From The Red Double Wide

Happy June everyone!  The weather is so summer like here (96 today)  but, we are still a week and a half away from finishing up the school year.  I’m to the point that I’m counting down the hours instead of the days….bring on summer vacation!  The weather has been so warm that we have been able to get tons of stuff done outside this spring.  My garden is planted and everything is up!!  I think that’s a record for us, I’m usually still trying to get things in the ground towards the end of June.

Here is a few pics of what’s been going on around here the last couple of months.april tillingDigger tilled the garden at the beginning of April.

I love this guy too….even more than spring time. 😉

Jo’s favorite part of spring is barn kittens.

Baby corn!

More pics of my growing garden and maybe the recipe for the onion rings will be coming soon! 😉

Have a great June and may our great God bless you abundantly!

March 2015 – A Month Of Photos From The Red Double Wide

What a month!!  It has been so beautiful, and the unusually mild weather has brought with it early signs of spring.  Some of which are beautiful and cute and some….. well, lets just say I could live without ticks and snakes being out already.

I don’t ever remember being able to do so much “spring cleaning” outside of the house in February and March.  It has felt great to enjoy the sunshine and get my hands dirty already. 🙂

Hope you enjoy some pics from March.

February 2015 – A Month of Photos From the Red Double Wide

I know the weather was crazy in some places during February but here we mostly enjoyed breezy sunshine and temps in the 50’s during the day.  It got me dreaming about gardens and baby animals.  Hope you are getting to enjoy some sunshine too wherever you are, even if there is snow on the ground!

Here are some photos of our February.

The official pooper scoopers!  As you can see one is scooping poop and the other is pretending that she was not just singing into the end of a long stick. HAHA gottcha!

DSCN4504 (480x640)

Jo and Digger repurposed this old cabinet into a “cat house”.  Now the dogs can’t eat the cat food.  It’s kinda funny to watch them try though!!

In the classroom, we celebrated Valentines Day and studied Polar Bears.

January 2015 – A Month Of Photos From The Red Double Wide

January has come to an end and I’m hoping the fog has too. 🙂  We only had a couple days that the sun came out and we enjoyed them VERY much.  Here’s a few photos I took during January.

Fluffy Cat

This is Peach, Jo declares that she is “the fluffiest cat in the world”.

Mt. Adams

Cinnamon Rolls

Mary made these yummy rolls!!

elk shed

Jo found this elk shed out behind the house!  I’ve only seen elk around here once so we thought this was pretty cool.

Snowman

We had a snowman theme in my classroom throughout January. 🙂

If any of you have any zombie issues….I know who to call!

Hope your February is off to a WONDERFUL start. 🙂

The girls sang and were “wise men” in the school program.

My girls

Of course we spent LOTS of time cooking and baking this month, and even more time eating!

Christmas goodies

My hubby totally nailed my Christmas gift this year.  Usually we agree not to get anything for each other.  He’s not the best shopper, and even worse at keeping a secret.  But this year with the help of a friend (Thanks Mike!)  he got EXACTLY what I’ve been wanting for a LONG time.  Right down to the correct size and color!!

DSCN3913 (640x480)

Isn’t it beautiful!  I’ve been using it everyday. 🙂

Now that Christmas is behind us I have been concentrating on school projects for January.  This year I’ve decided on a snowman theme for winter.

DSCN3887 (480x640)

Hope you all had a very blessed Christmas and everyone at the red doublewide wishes all of you a productive new year full of love, peace, and lots of bacon!

Sep Oct & Nov 2014 – Photos From The Red Double Wide

So I got a little behind…..ok REALLY behind on posting ANYTHING!!  Life just got away from me for a couple of months.  I didn’t even take many pictures, but I figured I’d share a few from what I did get over the last three months and let everyone know that we’re still alive and well. 🙂

Sky

Jade got a puppy and Jo is in love….This is the most spoiled dog I know!

Jo and baby Gunner

Mary went to work with Digger and saw Sasquatch. 🙂  (She took this one).

Big Foot

I have always had a rule about picking pumpkins….”If you can pack it you can have it.”

Pumpkin Patch

They might be getting to big for that rule.  They managed to get their 38 and 41 pound pumpkins home safely.

Big Pumpkins

I’ve been trying to spend a few hours every Saturday cooking for the freezer.  I love having homemade extras in the freezer for breakfast and lunches.

Gunner grew LOTS in the last couple months.

DSCN3495 (640x480)

We got our first snow really early and the weather has been pretty crazy.  We’ve already missed 3 days of school due to ice storms.  Hope you are all staying warm, safe and enjoying this holiday season so far!

August 2014 – A Month Of Photos From The Red Double Wide

Where did August go?!?!  We start school in a couple of days!  I have to admit I’m pretty excited, I think the girls are too but they won’t admit it. 😉

Hope you enjoy a few photos from the past month.

The fruit stands around here are full of wonderful stuff!  The only draw back to all the fresh fruit are the fruit flies that come with it. 🙁

Thanks for stopping by the Red Double Wide!!

July 2014 – A Month Of Photos From The Red Double Wide

July was full of nice weather, many trips to the pool, and a more relaxed schedule than the past few months.  On the 7th I officially became a mother-in-law and a grandma!!  I couldn’t feel more blessed.  🙂  I’m so glad Jade and his family live close and we get to see them almost everyday!  Dusty turned 18 on the 29th….wow that went FAST!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy my photos from July.

A pair of swallows built a nest above my kitchen window.  I wasn’t thrilled at first considering the mess, but it was so fun to watch them grow.  Four babies quickly grew up in this tiny nest with mom and dad swooping in and out all day long to feed them, (that’s either mom or dad on the far left).

bird nest

Like all babies they grew up too fast, and now are flying around catching bugs.  Now I need to wash the bird poop of the side of my house and kitchen window.  Oh joy!

Hungry Babies

Two rattle snakes in one week is enough for me!

Jo was supposed to be practicing for the fair with her little black hen.  It didn’t take long for her other 2 favorite, spoiled pets (Stinky and Boots) to realize they wanted to be on the table so they could get some attention too!

Hope you all have a great August!
