After having put tons of time, energy, blood, sweat, tears, and money (ok…maybe not blood) into this blog for the past 16 months, I finally decided to try to offset some of my expenses by advertising. You will notice affiliate links throughout my blog now. What is a affiliate link? If you click on one of them and purchase something, I will receive a small commission at NO extra cost to you.
I want to make it very clear that I will not promote ANYTHING that I have not purchased myself and absolutely LOVE. If I am promoting a business, it means that I have personally purchased something from them, completely enjoyed the experience and love the product I purchased!
Thanks so much for helping to support my little blog!
Love your site please include me on updates!
I am hoping that the saying, “You can’t teach old dogs new tricks” isn’t true because this great Gma is always looking for new recipes and helpful hints. I found your website as a result of looking for ways to peel fresh hard boiled eggs. Thank you for your help with this as I am about to make some eggs and know how much of them I lost the last time I tried to peel them. I’m not sure if you said but which end of the egg is best to pierce, the narrow or rounder part of the oval? Thanks bunches, Sandra AKA Gma
Hi Sandra, So glad you found my blog! You need to pierce the rounder part of the egg. That’s where the air pocket is. Good luck with your eggs. 🙂 Thanks for the nice comment.
Grace
Thanks Grace, I tried your method and it worked well. I plunged the eggs into ice water immediately after they were cooked. While cooling them I tapped each end to crack the shell then rolled them on the counter top, (a tip my sister gave me) and the shells peeled off without any trouble. Thanks again.
