First of all I want to mention that yes, my name is Grace, but that has nothing to do with the title of this page; although it does add some fun irony. 😉 The grace referred to is the grace that I have received and continue to receive from God, my family, my students, and my co-workers as I learn to teach. It also refers to the grace that must be given to students as they grow and learn.
Right now I am teaching preschool (3 & 4yr olds) kindergarten, first grade, and history/geography to 5th and 6th graders in a small Christian school. Each year is a little different and my class ranges in size depending on the year and the time of day. I can have anywhere from 7 to 14 students. Those aren’t very big classes, but when you have several ages, subjects, learning styles…etc. in each group, it can be VERY interesting. My motto is “hands on, fun, and most important, FLEXIBLE!” I have homeschooled my girls in the past and plan to do so again in the future. Right now they are thriving at the Christian school.
To sum things up, I LOVE to teach! I can’t put into words how much I enjoy watching these kids grow and play and learn and smile and whine and cry and pick their nose. Okay, maybe I don’t like the last three things so much, but they are all part of a job that’s always satisfying and never boring! I believe with all my heart that this is what God made me for. 😀
In the last 6 months I have been concentrating on building my own preschool curriculum. Some of it I have created myself and some I have gleaned from the internet. My goal is to have a complete 2 year, hands on curriculum for my 3 and 4 yr old students. This will save our little school a ton of money and I will have exactly what I need and want for my students. Some of the bundles I have created are for sale, and some are free in my Teachers Pay Teachers store. Visit my TPT store here: Learning With Grace – I will continue to add to my store as I get things organized.
Below is a list of all my teaching posts. This list will grow rapidly as I am concentrating on school more than ever now. Thanks for stopping by!
