  1. Thanks for the recipe. Just wanted to let you know that I am new to your blog and I just love the name. It just reminds me of something so “down home” and comforting. I can’t really put it to words but I love it!

  2. I am so excited. My family LOVES your breakfast sausage mix. We just put our pig in the freezer and will be picking up our cow from the butcher next week. I cant wait to make some sausage!

    1. Oh you lucky lady!! A freezer full of pork and beef! Hope you like the Italian sausage too…thanks for stopping by. 🙂

  5. Hi Just found your recipes for breakfast and Italian sausage. Have been on a make-it-yourself kick and needed those recipes. They both sound delicious and can’t wait to try them. Question, I am growing my own Sage. How would you prepare it for cooking? Thanks so much. Pat O’Gara, Jersey Girl

    1. Hi Pat, You can chop up the fresh sage leaves and substitute 1 tablespoon of the fresh for every teaspoon of dried sage, or you could dry the leaves yourself and then grind them up or make your own rubbed sage. Hope this answers your questions! Thanks for stopping by. 🙂

  6. Can’t wait to try this one. I’ve used your breakfast blend, it’s great. I didn’t have enough dried parsley so I also added some summer savory. I also grind an onion up with the pork.

  7. I LOVED this recipe. I used it to prepare my frozen pizza’s and some frozen meatballs while doing my monthly cooking. They turned out PERFECT. I saw it on Pinterest and I just want to say thank you! Up Next is the breakfast sausage.

  8. This recipe is perfect! The only change I make is using fresh grated garlic over powder (conversion: 1 clove=1/8t). After trying your breakfast sausage, ranch seasoning, and this, I can say that you definitely know your seasonings.

  9. I just wanted to say thank you for such wonderful recipes!! I really dislike processed foods and source all my meat from my parents farm. Great to find your sausage recipes and love your blog!!

  10. Omg I used your recipe for dinner and it was amazing! My family all went nuts for the Italian sausage burgers. Definitely is going to be our go to recipe from now on. I can’t wait to do your breakfast sausage recipe in the morning!
